This fare reduction helps make ferry travel more affordable and accessible for all passengers, whether you're planning a vacation, visiting family, or commuting between provinces.

🔻 50% reduction in fares for all passengers (adult, senior, youth, child)

🔻 50% reduction in fares for passenger vehicles (cars, SUVs, pickup trucks)

🔻 50% reduction in fares for recreational vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs)

🔻 50% reduction in fares for motorhomes and travel trailers

🔻 50% reduction in fares for security surcharges

🔻 Corresponding reduction in fuel surcharges, which are calculated as a percentage of base fares

Combining with Other Discounts and Offers

The reduced rates apply to Marine Atlantic’s base passenger and vehicle tariffs and work alongside our existing discount programs to provide even greater savings. If you qualify for a discount, you’ll continue to receive those benefits in addition to the 50% fare reduction.

Do passengers need to do anything to get the new rate?

No, the new rates will be automatically applied when booking.

Is the fuel surcharge included in the rate reductions?

No, the Government of Canada has not removed the fuel surcharge from Marine Atlantic’s rates. However, passengers will experience a decrease in the fuel surcharge as it is calculated as a percentage of the total cost of fares.
