Properties and Observations

Solids. Critical ambient temperature of decomposition may be as low as 60°C. May cause fire in contact with organic material or ammonium compounds. React with acids, evolving chlorine, an irritating, corrosive and toxic gas. In the presence of moisture, corrosive to most metals. Dust irritates mucous membranes. Transport of ammonium hypochlorite and mixtures of a hypochlorite with an ammonium salt is prohibited.
