Properties and Observations

Liquefied, flammable, toxic, colourless gas with an unpleasant odour. Explosive limits: 0.9% to 98%. Lighter than air (0.95). May decompose above -18°C with the formation of hydrogen and boron hydrides. Autoignition temperature: 90°C. Toxic by inhalation; forms boric acid and water by hydrolysis within the lungs.
