Yellow or red liquid. Boiling point: 79°C. Reacts violently with water, evolving hydrogen chloride and sulphur dioxide, irritating and corrosive gases. In the presence of moisture, highly corrosive to most metals. Causes severe burns to skin, eyes and mucous membranes.
