Marine Atlantic transported in excess of 86,000 commercial units in 2005. These units transport a wide variety of items accounting for more than 50% of all goods being shipped to and from the Island of Newfoundland.
This section of the web site is designed to provide our commercial customers with information on our service as well as procedures to follow when travelling on our vessels.
Please Note:
If you intend to transport seafood using Marine Atlantic’s ferry service, then we ask that you ensure the following:
- Doors for the trailer unit are closed tightly;
- The trailer unit is properly equipped to prevent spillage during the voyage;
- Check in at the terminal a minimum of 2 hours prior to scheduled departure; and
- Check with the on duty Assistant Terminal Manager for details pertaining to draining of any collection unit.
We want to ensure all of our customers have a safe and enjoyable voyage. Commercial customers who fail to comply with the procedures outlined above will be denied transportation.
